Judicial Division

The Judicial Division provides for:

  • Filing, storing, and retrieving civil court records and criminal court records.
  • Supporting the court through management of court records and attendance during court proceedings.
  • Preparing civil ready calendars and civil trial calendars.
  • Preparing criminal arraignment calendars, pretrial calendars, and trial calendars.
  • Publishing verdicts for civil and criminal trials.
  • Issuing subpoenas, summonses, and trial notices.
  • Administration of jury pool information, summoning and notifying jurors, and managing the jury during the juror selection process.
  • Taking down criminal court sentences and preparing final dispositions and recording the same in the criminal records.
  • Furnishing copies of capital felony cases in which the death penalty is sought to the Attorney General.
  • Receiving and safely maintaining all evidence brought to the court and properly disposing of the same.
  • Transmitting criminal final dispositions to the Georgia Crime Information Center.
  • Transmitting final dispositions for traffic citations to the Georgia Department of Driver Safety.
  • Publishing defendant's photo and disposition of second and third DUI conviction in the local legal organ.
  • Notifying health officials to perform DNA testing on convicted sex offenders.
  • Transmitting civil filing and civil disposition information to the Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority.
  • Preparing and transmitting civil or criminal appeals to the Georgia Court of Appeals or the Supreme Court of Georgia.
  • Preparing and transmitting prisoner packages to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
  • Advertising in the local paper all appointments to be considered by the upcoming grand jury.
  • Filing and holding election returns in office for two years and after inspection and order by the grand jury, destroying the election returns.
  • Providing temporary protective order forms, scheduling hearings with the superior court judge, providing certified copies to the petitioner, sheriff, and defendants.
  • Transmitting temporary protective order records to Georgia Superior Court Clerks Cooperative Authority.
  • Transmitting annual case counts to the Administrative Office of the Courts.
  • In the capacity of the juvenile court clerk, maintaining all juvenile court records and performing all other duties as required by the juvenile court.
